To say Brad Marchand is disliked in the NHL is a bit of an understatement. The Canadian forward is certainly a pest, and arguably dirty. However, you can’t discredit the fact that he is one of the best hockey players in the world.
The way Marchand has played over the years has certainly caught the eyes of many hockey fans, even the ones who don’t follow the Boston Bruins. Most of it is in a negative light, so when Marchand gets pancaked, you know there are going to be many cheers.

That is what happened last night when Columbus Blue Jackets forward Nick Foligno annihilated Marchand. He was caught trying to cut inside the blue line of the Jackets’ zone, where he was met by the body of Foligno. Marchand coughed up the puck thanks to the heavy hit and hockey fans rejoiced as Marchand got caught cleanly by the check.
