Carolina Hurricanes

The Carolina Hurricanes are a professional hockey team based in Raleigh, North Carolina, competing in the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference in the NHL. The team plays its home games at Lenovo Center, known as PNC Arena until 2024.

Carolina Hurricanes History

The Carolina Hurricanes franchise was founded in 1971 as the New England Whalers. The Whalers had some significant success in the WHA before joining the NHL in 1979. The team relocated to North Carolina in 1997 and rebranded as the Hurricanes. They won their first Stanley Cup in the 2005-06 season and their second in June 2026, beating the Vegas Golden Knights in six games.
