The Carolina Hurricanes open the season as Stanley Cup champions, at home to Florida on 29 September, in the league’s first game of the year. The team’s new network finally has a name — Hurricanes Hockey Network — but it still has no channel numbers, no carriage deals and no price. You know what to look for now. You cannot yet buy it.
What is replacing FanDuel Sports Network?
Hurricanes Hockey Network, HHN for short. The club announced the name on 1 September 2026, six weeks after confirming it would launch its own network following FanDuel Sports Network’s collapse. It is owned and operated by the Hurricanes, with games produced by NHL Productions — the in-house arm the league created after FanDuel’s parent ceased operations in April.
Where will I find it?
“Throughout the Hurricanes’ regional broadcast territory via cable and satellite providers and as a direct-to-consumer streaming subscription,” in the club’s words. Which providers carry it, what channel number it sits on and what the subscription costs are all still to come. The club has said those details arrive before the regular season, which leaves it four weeks.
What will it cost?
Not announced. The FanDuel direct-to-consumer subscription it replaces ran at $19.99 a month; that is the old price, not a guide to the new one.
Will any games be free?
Possibly. WRAL has reported the club would like to continue the limited over-the-air simulcasts it has run in past seasons on WRAL and Fox 50, mostly around holidays. No agreement has been announced, and the 1 September release did not mention over-the-air games at all.
Who calls the games?
The whole FanDuel-era crew is back. Mike Maniscalco on play-by-play, Tripp Tracy as analyst, Hanna Yates hosting, and Shane Willis on pregame, intermission and postgame. Radio is on 99.9 The Fan in Raleigh, with a network taking in Buzz Sports Radio and ESPN affiliates in New Bern and Greenville, plus selected games on SiriusXM.
What if I live outside the Carolinas?
Out-of-market games are on NHL Power Play through the ESPN app. The FanDuel territory covered North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia; HHN’s territory has not been published, so if you live near the edge of that map, wait for the announcement before buying anything.
When do the Carolina Hurricanes play?
Tuesday 29 September, at home to Florida, with the championship banner raised beforehand. The Hurricanes have 12 nationally televised games this season — two on ESPN, six on ESPN+, Disney+ and Hulu, and four on TNT.
