Fans furious after hit by Ridly Greig on Lucas Raymond

The Detroit Red Wings defeated the Ottawa Senators 4–3 in overtime on Sunday, but the game’s biggest talking point afterward was a hit by Senators forward Ridly Greig on Red Wings star Lucas Raymond.

Lucas Raymond has developed into a key player for Detroit. He leads the team in scoring this season with 53 points in 48 games and is on pace for a career-high 88 points.
On Sunday, Raymond scored the tying goal midway through the second period, making it 2–2 after the Red Wings had trailed 2–0 following the first period. Just minutes later, however, he went down on the ice after taking a hit from Greig.

Many believe the play should have resulted in a major penalty or a suspension.

“Three games. Targeting the head with intent to injure,” another said.
“That’s dirty and should be a suspension — that was a chicken wing,” a third wrote.
