Aleksander Barkov shares important lesson from Jaromir Jagr
This is awesome!
Jaromir Jagr, born on February 15, 1972, in Kladno, Czechia, began his NHL career when the Pittsburgh Penguins drafted him fifth overall in 1990. He won two Stanley Cups with the Penguins in 1991 and 1992.
Jagr started skating at the age of three and quickly showed remarkable talent. Through relentless practice, he debuted in the top Czech league at just 15 years old. At 17, he played for the Czech national team for the first time.
The Pittsburgh Penguins drafted Jagr fifth overall in 1990. In his first two seasons, he helped the team win back-to-back Stanley Cups and established himself as a superstar. Jagr formed one of the most dominant duos in NHL history with Mario Lemieux, as both players repeatedly battled for the Art Ross Trophy.
In 2001, the Penguins traded Jagr to the Washington Capitals. Over the following years, he also played for the New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, Dallas Stars, Boston Bruins, New Jersey Devils, Florida Panthers, and Calgary Flames.
During 24 NHL seasons, Jagr delivered outstanding numbers. He scored 766 goals and 1,155 assists for a total of 1,921 points in 1,733 games. His total points ranks only behind Wayne Gretzky for most points in NHL history. He also earned five Art Ross Trophies, one Hart Trophy, and three Ted Lindsay Awards.
On the international stage, Jagr won two World Championships and one Olympic gold medal. He represented Czechia in five Olympic tournaments.
