Evander Kane

Evander Kane is a Canadian professional hockey player for the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL. He was born on August 2, 1991, in Vancouver.

His parents named him after professional boxer Evander Holyfield, and Kane met Holyfield at the age of 18. The Atlanta Thrashers drafted Kane ninth overall in the 2009 NHL draft. Kane stands out for his strong goal-scoring ability and has recorded nine seasons with at least 20 goals. In 2023-2024 and 2024-2025, Kane played in two straight Stanley Cup finals with the Oilers, eventually falling short on both occasions against a Florida Panthers, led by Brad Marchand and Matthew Tkachuk. He has played for the Atlanta Thrashers, Winnipeg Jets, Buffalo Sabres, San Jose Sharks, Edmonton Oilers, and Vancouver Canucks.
