Brad Marchand brilliantly chirps Sidney Crosby

Brad Marchand and Sidney Crosby go way back to their native Nova Scotia. So when Marchand was asked to share his favorite memory of Crosby, he chose one from childhood — and, of course, managed to chirp him in the most hilarious way.

Sidney Crosby is one year older than Brad Marchand, and although they both played for the same U18 team, the Dartmouth Subways, it wasn’t at the same time. Now, more than 20 years later, they are de facto teammates on Team Canada as they compete for the Olympic gold medal.

Marchand on Sidney Crosby

When asked to share his favorite memory of Crosby, Marchand recalled a time when his dad took him to watch Crosby play.
“One of my favorite memories is actually when he was younger. It was the first time I saw him play. He might have been 10 or 11 years old, and he was playing against kids who were 12 or 13. I had gone to the game to watch and actually study the way he protected the puck. My dad wanted me to learn from him. It was 6–1 in the championship game against kids three years older than he was, and he had five goals and one assist,” Marchand said.

But it wouldn’t be Brad Marchand without a little chirp.
“Just the way he carried the game and took over — you could see he was going to be something special. Fast forward all these years later, I think he’s maybe 58 now. He’s still the most dominant player in the game, and seeing his career has been pretty incredible.”
