Jeremy Swayman confirms heartwarming gesture from Nick Foligno after injury; it almost brought him to tears.

The Boston Bruins are doing great in every aspect available right now. They’re playing some great hockey and are Nr. 1 in the entire league with a 14-2-0 record. Team spirit also seems sky-high, and their star players are really performing at a top level right now.

The team’s veterans like Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, and Nick Foligno aren’t just playing great hockey. They’re role models off the ice.

Patrice Bergeron got praised for asking Tage Thompson how his wife’s doing after undergoing cancerous mass removal in 2019 during a pre-game interaction that went viral.

Now, another Bruins player is getting a lot of praise after a heartwarming gesture.

Goalie Jeremy Swayman suffered a leg injury in a collision with Patrice Bergeron during a matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins at the beginning of November. Since Swayman got put on IR, teammate Nick Foligno has stepped n when it comes to the post-win goalie hug with Linus Ullmark, but that’s not all.

Swayman is now on his way back, and after practice on Tuesday, the goalie revealed Foligno also did something really extra as he was injured.

“I have so many good things to say about that guy,” Swayman told reporters.

“Something, probably a lot of people don’t know, but I was on the train back to Boston from New York the next day and he texted me asking for my address.

“He said, ‘My wife made you a ton of food, she’s going to drop it off.’ I couldn’t believe it. When I got home, there was this huge bag with like a gallon and a half of homemade chicken soup, 30 turkey meatballs, a bunch of peppers and cookies and stuff. It brought me to tears almost, it was really amazing.”

Nick Foligno was the captain of the Columbus Blue Jackets from 2015 to 2021 when he left for the Toronto Maple Leafs. With gestures like this, we understand why. What a leader!
