Fans are calling for Jamie Benn to be suspended

Game Five between the Winnipeg Jets and the Dallas Stars was a feisty one. The Jets came out on top with a 4–0 win, making the series 3–2 in favor of Dallas. But one incident now has fans everywhere calling for a suspension for Stars captain Jamie Benn.

The Winnipeg Jets were facing elimination ahead of last night’s Game Five against the Dallas Stars, but they pulled through, shutting out the Stars for a 4–0 victory. As always in the playoffs, the game was hard-fought and saw 50 penalty minutes handed out. In the third period, a big scrum broke out during which Stars captain Jamie Benn knocked the Jets’ Mark Scheifele to the ice. Afterwards, Scheifele was furious and tried to fight Benn but was held back by officials.

Calling for suspension on Jamie Benn

Both Benn and Scheifele were penalized, but now fans are calling out Jamie Benn for his punch on Scheifele, saying he should face suspension and labeling it a sucker punch and a cheap shot.
“Always been one of the dirtiest players in the league,” one person wrote on X.
“Benn is a thug,” another added.
“That one might be a big, big fine and a suspension,” a third commented. Game six is played on Saturday in Dallas. You can watch the full video below.
