Andrei Vasilevskiy hilariously roasts cable companies with an unexpected answer about Tampa’s first-round opponents

Heading into Tuesday night’s NHL games, the Tampa Bay Lightning still had no idea who their playoff opponent for the first round would be.

The Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers still had their final games of the season, and the outcome of those games would determine which team the Lightning would play in the first round.

Many were eager to watch the dramatic events unfold, but not Andrei Vasilevskiy.

The Tampa Bay Lightning’s superstar goalie was asked if and how he would follow the last games of the regular season, and he gave an unexpected answer by absolutely roasting the cable companies.

And fans absolutely loved him for it

“I probably will check the score on the website,” No. 88 said.

”I do have TV at home, but I don’t have cable. It’s just too expensive nowadays.”

Vasilevskiy is one of the best—if not the best—goalie in the league, and is carrying a $9.5 million AAV.

But not even he can justify the cable companies’ pricing, so he simply decided to follow it the old-fashioned way instead: no live action, no clips, just the scores.

Fans absolutely loved his honesty and humorous approach to the drama.

If Vasilevskiy had followed the scores on the website, he would’ve learned that the Tampa Bay Lightning will play the Florida Panthers in the Eastern Conference First Rund of the Playoffs.

The Panthers finished first in the Atlantic and have a home-ice advantage in the best-of-7 series. The teams played each other three times in the regular season, with the Panthers winning two.
