Colorado Avalanche games are on Altitude Sports. Comcast Xfinity carries it again — it returned on 4 February 2025 after nearly six years off the system — but only inside the More Sports & Entertainment add-on at $15.95 a month. DISH still does not carry Altitude and has not since 2019. If you would rather skip carriage arguments entirely, Altitude+ streams the games directly for $19.95 a month or $199.99 a year.
Who carries Altitude Sports?
Comcast Xfinity carries it, having restored the channel on 4 February 2025 after a blackout that ran for nearly six years. It is not in the base package: Xfinity customers need the More Sports & Entertainment add-on, which is $15.95 a month on top of the television plan. DISH has not carried Altitude since 2019 and no deal has been announced.
What does Altitude+ cost?
$19.95 a month, or $199.99 for a year. It streams the same local broadcasts directly, with no television provider involved, which for a large share of the Denver market is the simplest answer to a decade of carriage disputes.
Are any Avalanche games free?
Twenty games aired free over the air last season on 9NEWS and My20, the TEGNA stations in Denver. Whether that arrangement continues in 2026-27 has not been announced. Until it is, assume the games are behind Altitude and treat any free broadcast as a bonus.
Am I in-market?
The Avalanche territory covers Colorado and a stretch of the surrounding states. Inside it, national out-of-market packages black Avalanche games out and Altitude is the only local route; outside it, NHL Power Play through the ESPN app applies. Altitude checks eligibility by postcode at sign-up, which is the quickest way to settle it.
How often are the Avalanche on national television?
Sixteen times, including the Winter Classic — the highest-profile date on their schedule and one that is not on Altitude. National games are blacked out locally.
When do the Avalanche open?
Wednesday 30 September, at home against Los Angeles, on TNT.
