Rod Brind’Amour as mentor

Brind’Amour captained the Hurricanes to their first-ever Stanley Cup championship in 2006. Then, 20 years later, he led the franchise to its second Cup, this time as head coach. Meanwhile, since entering the league as a 19-year-old, Jarvis has learned a great deal from Brind’Amour—not only about hockey, but also about life off the ice. As a result, the veteran coach has played a major role in Jarvis’ development both as a player and as a person.
After Sunday night’s 3–0 win over the Vegas Golden Knights, Jarvis spoke highly of his coach.

Seth Jarvis’ kind words

“He means a lot to everybody. He’s the head of our snake, and he’s been incredible. For him to have won as a player and now win as a coach, it’s easy to come in every day and listen to what he’s saying. You know he’s lived it, he’s been there. And to share this moment with him is amazing. For me, he’s matured me. I came in as a young, immature kid. I’m still pretty young and immature, but a little more mature now. And now I’m a Stanley Cup champion, so it doesn’t get much better than that,” Jarvis said.

Seth Jarvis recorded four goals and seven assists in 19 playoff games.
