It’s easy to forget that Connor McDavid is only 24 years old, and a few nights ago, he became the sixth-fastest player in NHL history to reach 600 points. It took him just 421 games to reach the mighty milestone. Only Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Peter Stastny, Mike Bossy, and Jarri Curry have needed fewer games in the league’s history.
McDavid has also led the NHL in points scored three times before, and entered this season as the league’s reigning MVP. Many believe that if McDavid were to retire even after this season, it would still be enough for a place in the Hall of Fame, as he is already a three-time Art Ross Trophy and Ted Lindsay Award winner, as well as winning the Hart Trophy twice.
But McDavid will, of course, not retire yet, and we will get to enjoy his dominance for many, many years to come.

But some numbers are even more incredible and say everything about his development in the league.
Statistics show that it took him 92 games to reach his first 100 points in the NHL, and since then, it has required fewer and fewer matches for every 100 points. From his 500th point to his 600th point, for example, it only took 53 games. In other words, he just accelerates in order to reach milestones, and the NHL fans indeed seem to be in for a treat in the coming years.
