Fans in Nashville were gifted an old-fashioned line-brawl as chaos ensued with the Winnipeg Jets.

With just under five minutes to play in the second period, the Jets and Predators confirmed their rivalry as all hell broke loose after Miikka Salomaki was cross-checked in front of the Winnipeg goal.
A delayed penalty was coming against Winnipeg, but Salomaki opted to finish his check against Nikolaj Ehlers, which caused all players on the ice to grab a dance partner
Ehlers’ was in a vulnerable position, as Salomaki hit him right in the numbers. Colton Sissons and Ehlers dropped the gloves, Mattias Ekholm and Blake Wheeler fought, while some pushing and shoving took place among the rest of the on-ice players.
Jacob Trouba was originally going to receive a penalty for his in-front battle with Salomaki. Salomaki decided that it was the right call to hit Ehlers from behind as he was touching the puck to stop play.
Trouba clearly didn’t like Salomaki hitting Ehlers, as Trouba gave him another shot. That is when the rest of the lines all jumped in.

Overall, five penalties were handed out thanks to the skirmish. The two fights (four players in total) and then the cross-checking penalty from Trouba.
76 minutes were handed out in total during this contest. Tyler Myers, Mark Scheifele and Ben Chariot all received Misconducts throughout the game as well, and they all took place after the initial line-brawl.
The teams will meet three other times over the course of this season, with their next encounter taking place January 17th, once again in Nashville.
Nashville would go on to blank the Jets 3-0.
