Ryan Reaves’ lineup announcement has locker room in stitches

Ryan Reaves is currently injured, but he remains a pivotal part of the young San Jose Sharks. Last night, he announced the Sharks’ starting lineup in the locker room—and had the entire team cracking up.

At 39 years old, Reaves is the oldest player on a young Sharks roster. While he isn’t logging heavy minutes every night, he continues to contribute with his experience.

Ryan Reaves injury

After suffering an upper-body injury in late March, Reaves is currently sidelined. Still, he remains a highly valued voice around the team.
“Another guy who knows what it takes this time of year. He’s been on long playoff runs. He knows what winning looks like, how you have to play the game this time of year, and he’s going to continue to voice that. The more voices we get to help our players understand that, the better we’re going to be in the long run,” Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky told outlet Sharks Hockey Digest.

Lineup announcement

As a respected presence in the locker room, Reaves was given the honor of reading the starting lineup ahead of last night’s game against the Edmonton Oilers. While the Sharks fell 5–2, Reaves delivered the lineup in memorable fashion—shouting out players’ names, firing up the room, and getting plenty of laughs.
The Sharks currently sit three points out of the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference with five games remaining. Next up, they face the Anaheim Ducks.
