Patrick Maroon Gets Once In A Lifetime Opportunity: To Tug Brent Burns’ Beard

Late in the second period of a 3-2 contest between the Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks, Patrick Maroon may have had a once in a lifetime opportunity: to tug on Brent Burns’ magnificent beard.

With the puck under Sharks’ netminder Martin Jones, a small skirmish ensued between both teams. On the left of your screen and to the right of Jones, we saw two-players grappling each other on the ice while the linesmen jumped in.

During that time, the cameras caught Maroon and Burns exchanging words. Seconds later, Maroon stroked the beard of Burns before getting up and skating away.

Some people may never have the opportunity to place their gloves/hands-on Burns’ beard, so Patty Maroon wasn’t going to miss his shot.

Clearly, that was a stroke of good luck as the Oilers went on to win the game 5-3.
