Marc-André Fleury has made a defining decision about his future, and fans are absolutely loving it

It hasn’t been an easy season for Marc-André Fleury in the last 12 months. He won the Vezina Trophy in June after a magnificent season with the Vegas Golden Knights.

The organization, however, wanted Robin Lehner as their No. 1, so Fleury got traded to the Chicago Blackhawks. Just 45 games later, Fleury got traded to the Minnesota Wild at the trade deadline, and he will now start the playoffs for a Stanley Cup contender.

Fleury has the chance to lift the Cup for the fourth time in his career, and he’s off to a flying start at his new club, with six wins in seven games played and a save percentage of .921.

But Fleury hasn’t been sure if he’s playing at all next season. He’s 37 years old and ranks no. 7 among goalkeepers with the most games in NHL history. Now, he confirms that he’ll play one more year.

“I would like to play at least another season. I decided that recently,” Fleury told lapresse.ca.

“I still like to play, I still have fun, the body still holds… Most of the time. But yes, another season, and we will see after.”

Fleury has 935 games in the NHL, and with one more season confirmed, he’ll look to advance past Curtis Joseph, Ed Belfour, and probably Terry Sawchuk up to fourth place on the prestigious list.
