Jordan Binnington loses it and gets involved in scrum; fans are all saying the same thing about it

Jordan Binnington is a great goalie; there’s no denying that. But he often finds himself in controversial incidents, and he’s known for having one of the hottest tempers in the League.

On Sunday, he was once again involved physically, and fans all said the same thing afterward.

The St. Louis Blues goaltender played the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday, and things got heated in the game’s second period.

It’s not something strange that things get testy during NHL games, but it’s not as often we see goalies get involved. But Binnington isn’t your ordinary keeper, and when a scrum erupted just in front of his net, he quickly got involved.

Binnington took exception to some physical hits from Ducks forward Ross Johnson in a scrum that started because of Johnson’s high stick in front of the net.

When Binnington saw what was going on, he immediately got involved and started throwing punches with his glove and blocker.

All Binnington really did was stick up for his teammate, but it did earn him a 2-minute minor penalty for roughing.

Whenever Binnington does anything other than playing hockey, it leads to big reactions on social media. And this time was no exception.

The video of Binnington leaving his goal to get involved in the scrum quickly went viral, and some reactions were very expected.

”’Binnington gets involved in a scrum’ is like a free space in hockey bingo,” one fan said on X, formerly Twitter.

”Binnington involved in a scrum? That sounds so unlike him,” another said ironically.

But many also came to Binnington’s defense, claiming he was just being a good teammate this time.

”I know many hate Binnington, but I don’t think this is an out of the ordinary action by him,” one said.

”As a certified Binnington hater I’m with you on this one. Goalies get involved in crease scrums all the time,” another responded.

”I see a goalie being a good teammate,” a third added.

”Why are we talking about this? If literally any other goalie did it we wouldn’t be talking about it. He’s just sticking up for his teammate,” a fourth said.
