How to watch the New Jersey Devils in 2026-27

New Jersey Devils games are on MSG Sportsnet, and the biggest practical thing to know about this season is that the home opener is not. New Jersey open at home to Philadelphia on 1 October and that game is an ESPN+, Disney+ and Hulu national exclusive. The second thing: the Gotham Sports App you stream MSG through is being replaced by DAZN during this season, at a price that has not been announced.

Which channel are Devils games on?

MSG Sportsnet, carried on Verizon Fios, Optimum, DIRECTV — channel 635 — DIRECTV Stream and Fubo. Comcast Xfinity dropped MSG Networks in 2021 and DISH in 2010, and neither has come back, which leaves a large share of New Jersey households unable to get the channel at all.

How do I stream Devils games, and what will it cost?

Through the Gotham Sports App now and DAZN later this season, after MSG Networks named DAZN its exclusive direct-to-consumer streaming home in July 2026. DAZN has not published a price. The last Gotham prices were $29.99 a month or $279.99 a year for MSG+, and $34.99 a month for the bundle with YES. Pay-television subscribers who already receive MSG will get DAZN at no additional cost.

Why is the home opener not on MSG?

Because the league sold it nationally. New Jersey’s opener against Philadelphia on Thursday 1 October is an ESPN+, Disney+ and Hulu exclusive, so it is blacked out on MSG Sportsnet. It is a good illustration of a wider point in this market: the Devils have 12 national games this season, the third straight year at that level, and every one of them is unavailable on the local channel.

How many games are on MSG Sportsnet?

The 2026-27 count has not been confirmed. With 12 national exclusives the arithmetic gives 72 of 84, but the club’s own broadcast page still shows 69, which is last season’s figure from an 82-game schedule. Take 72 as the likely number and check the club’s schedule when it is updated.

Am I in-market?

The territory covers New York State, northern and central New Jersey, south-western and south-eastern Connecticut and north-eastern Pennsylvania. Outside it, NHL Power Play through the ESPN app or NHL Center Ice.

Who calls the games?

Don La Greca on play-by-play in his second season, with Ken Daneyko on colour, Rachel Herzog hosting and analysing and Bryce Salvador contributing. Radio is unusual here: there is no AM flagship. Every game is on the Devils Hockey Network through the club’s website and app and the NHL app, with Matt Loughlin calling and Glenn \u201cChico\u201d Resch analysing.

When do the Devils open?

Thursday 1 October at 7pm, at home against Philadelphia — on ESPN+, Disney+ and Hulu, not on MSG.
