These outdoor games are designed to grow interest in hockey, and anyone who watched their first game last night certainly got their money’s worth. The game featured ten regulation goals, a shootout, and even a massive goalie fight between Andrei Vasilevskiy and Jeremy Swayman.
Adding to the fun, players arrived at the stadium wearing costumes. Even Lightning coach Jon Cooper joined in, showing up dressed as Tony Montana, the iconic Scarface character played by Al Pacino in the 1983 film.
Summed up the game
After the chaotic game, both the crowd and the players were buzzing. As he walked from the ice to the locker room, Cooper lit a cigar and summed up the wild night with one hilarious line that reporters quickly picked up.
“I need a cigar after this one, holy sh*t,” Cooper said — and fans can’t stop laughing.
“Insanely rockstar,” one fan wrote on X.
“He’s so f***ing cool, man,” another added.
“Rename the Jack Adams to the Jon Cooper,” a third fan chimed in.
