John Tortorella Stanley Cup win
Tortorella brings an impressive résumé, including an Olympic gold medal in 2026 and a Stanley Cup in 2004 with the Tampa Bay Lightning. He stayed out of NHL coaching for about a year after the Philadelphia Flyers fired him on March 27, 2025. Beyond his coaching credentials, Tortorella has long captivated reporters—not only with his blunt and fiery personality, but also with his sense of humor and memorable quotes.
Made reporters laugh
Tortorella’s start with the Golden Knights has been strong, with the team winning its last three games. They are currently on a four-game road trip. Which began with a 5–1 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters, Tortorella was asked about his first road trip with the team. His answer had everyone laughing:
“Being away, you’re with them more. You are in the building more with them. It certainly helps. I’m beginning to get it as far as names,” he said.
Next up, the Golden Knights will face the Vancouver Canucks.
