Tij Iginla early life

Tij Iginla was born on August 4, 2006, in Lake Country, British Columbia, Canada. His father is Jarome Iginla, a former NHL player who played over 1,500 games and scored 625 goals during his 21-year NHL career.

Playing Career

Tij Iginla showed talent from an early age. At 15, he played at the U18 level and recorded 48 points in 32 games at RINK Academy in Kelowna. Drafted ninth overall by the Seattle Thunderbirds in the 2021 WHL Draft, Iginla played three games that season, tallying one assist. The following season, he posted 18 points (6 goals, 12 assists) in 48 WHL games.
Ahead of the 2023–2024 season, Iginla was traded to the Kelowna Rockets. He started the season strong, scoring 21 points (13 goals, 8 assists) in 12 games. This performance earned him a move from a B rating to an A rating from NHL Central Scouting. He finished the regular season with 84 points (47 goals, 37 assists) in 64 games, and added 15 points (9 goals, 6 assists) in 11 playoff games.

In 2024, Tij Iginla became the first-ever draft pick for the Utah Mammoth (formerly the Utah Hockey Club). During the 2024–2025 season, Iginla tallied 32 points (14 goals, 18 assists) in 21 games.
On the international stage, Iginla represented Canada at the U18 World Championships, where he scored six goals and six assists in seven games, including the game-winning goal in the gold medal match against the USA.

Personal life

Iginla’s parents are Kara and Jarome Iginla. Jarome is a Hockey Hall of Fame inductee. Tij has two siblings: a younger brother, Joe (born in 2008), who plays for the Edmonton Oil Kings in the WHL, and an older sister, Jade (born in 2004), who plays for Brown University.
As for his dating life, there are rumors about a possible girlfriend, but it has not been confirmed whether he is currently dating anyone.
