Broadcaster Nick Olczyk’s moving moment with a fan

The Utah Mammoth fell 7–4 to the Washington Capitals on Thursday. But what caught most fans’ attention was broadcaster Nick Olczyk’s touching gesture toward a young fan, giving her a puck that had bounced into the benches.

Despite the loss, in which Alexander Ovechkin recorded his 34th career hat trick, the Mammoth still hold the first wild card spot in the Western Conference.

Nick Olczyk wholesome moment

With nine games left to play, the Capitals sit six points outside a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, Thursday’s game proved to be a hard-fought battle, with Tom Wilson picking up a couple of fighting penalties. However, even though the Mammoth came up short, fans were still left smiling thanks to a memorable off-ice moment. In fact, Olczyk, the son of Stanley Cup winner Eddie Olczyk, retrieved a puck that had bounced between the benches.

Fans praise Olczyk

Instead of tossing it back onto the ice or handing it to an official, he flipped it into the stands to a young fan wearing a Dylan Guenther jersey, who was visibly surprised and touched by the gesture.
Fans online were quick to praise Olczyk’s act of kindness.
“That’s wholesome af,” one fan wrote on X.
“That’s what Nicky O does! We’re so lucky to have him here!” another added.
“This is what it’s all about,” a third fan chimed in.
Next up, the Mammoth face the Los Angeles Kings.
