Brad Marchand is a special guy. He’s always been known for his on-ice antics and for being perhaps the biggest rat in the league. But throughout his incredible NHL career, Marchand has also been an elite player. Now 37 years old, he still performs at a top level. Since getting traded to the Florida Panthers, he’s continued to show just how valuable a player of his calibre is—especially in the playoffs.
In Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Edmonton Oilers, Marchand was the ultimate game-changer. It was only fitting that he won the game for the Panthers, tying the series at 1-1. He also scored a short-handed goal in the second period to give the Panthers a 4–3 lead.
Brad Marchand’s mother’s reaction
Corey Perry tied it 4–4 with just 18 seconds left in regulation. But in double overtime—after 88:05 of play—Marchand scored on yet another breakaway, again set up by Anton Lundell. But Brad wasn’t the only Marchand losing it over the clutch goal.
Shortly after, a video of his mom in the stands started making the rounds on social media—and it’s easy to see why it went viral. In the clip, Lynn Marchand is seen cheering and celebrating loudly. Fans absolutely loved her ecstatic reaction to the double-overtime winner—and how she screamed her lungs out in pure happiness over what her son had just done.
Even though Brad Marchand is 37 and a true NHL veteran, it’s clear his parents never get tired of seeing their son succeed—especially when it matters most. Absolutely love to see it!
