Brad Marchand chirps Bruins in Stanley Cup celebration

No matter what you think of the man, every hockey fan can agree that Brad Marchand has been a tremendous addition to the Florida Panthers. Marchand scored six goals in the finals and tallied 20 points in 23 games. After winning his second Cup, Marchand celebrated in fitting fashion—and took a real jab at his former club, the Boston Bruins.

When the Florida Panthers traded for the Boston Bruins’ captain on March 7, many Panthers fans were thrilled. The Panthers know Brad Marchand well, with the Bruins being one of their biggest division rivals in the Atlantic. But no one could have predicted the impact the 37-year-old would have.

Celebrated in style

Marchand’s pesty style of play fit perfectly with the aggressive way the Panthers play, and with his six goals in the finals, he proved pivotal in their 4–2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers. After the win, Marchand got to see how the Panthers celebrate a Stanley Cup: at the Elbo Room in Fort Lauderdale. The morning after Game Six, the whole team gathered at the now-legendary bar to celebrate with fans. Crowds stood outside the bar, shouting at the players.

Brad Marchand chirps the Bruins

One chant took a big jab at the Boston Bruins—and Marchand joined in. In a video now going viral after being posted on X, fans can be seen and heard chanting “Thank you, Boston” as a jab at the team for letting Marchand go, with Marchand joining in on the chant while lifting the Stanley Cup. Obviously, Panthers fans are loving it—and Bruins fans, not so much.
