Antoine Roussel got a 10-minute misconduct for the weirdest reason last night

The Vegas Golden Knights blanked the Vancouver Canucks last night, winning Game 1 5-0, and moving up 9-0-2 against the Canucks since coming into the league.

Golden Knights bombarded the Canucks’ net and made sure to put Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser out if the shooting statistics through the first two periods, with the Canucks duo failing to register a single shot on goal.

But the biggest talking point of the night, or weird situation at least, was going to be a situation involving Antoine Roussel and Ryan Reaves. The two skated towards each other in what looked like an invite to a scrum, but instead the continued to hug.

The referees however didn’t like it at all.

Earlier in the game, Reaves made chicken noises at Roussel for not wanting to fight. But when the two hugged in the third period, Roussel got a 10-minute misconduct. For that? Seemingly, for hugging.

Roussel had to spend 10 minutes on the bench. But the Golden Knights weren’t done with him, and taunted him afterwards.
