Nathan MacKinnon calls out coach in furious rage on bench

Could there be trouble in paradise for the Colorado Avalanche?

Despite having three of the top scorers in the league (Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, and Gabriel Landeskog), the Avalanche are still a middle of the pack team. Owning a record of 20-16-8 is okay, but the Avalanche have lost two straight games. In their last ten games, the Avalanche are 2-8.

Last night, Nathan MacKinnon showed his frustration after Colorado gave up a late goal to the Calgary Flames. Calgary would go on to win, 5-3.

After the goal, MacKinnon could be seen on the bench mouthing something. It turned out that his comments were directed at head coach Jared Bednar. The commentators of the game believe they saw MacKinnon say “do your job” to Bednar. MacKinnon also slammed a water bottle down in frustration.

Colorado peppered Calgary with 35 shots but were unable to snag the victor. The Avalanche will travel to Eastern Canada to take on Montreal, Toronto, and Ottawa in their next three games.
