Paul Bissonnette and Sidney Crosby stats
Today, Paul Bissonnette is best known as a popular podcaster on Spittin’ Chiclets and as a TV analyst. Last night, he appeared as a guest on the Prime NHL broadcast alongside his podcast co-host Ryan Whitney. During the show, the panel brought up the fact that Bissonnette and Crosby once shared ice time.
Crosby and Evgeni Malkin are famously known as the “two-headed monster” when they play together. On the broadcast, the panel jokingly asked what might have been if Paul Bissonnette had played alongside Crosby instead of Malkin.
Had the perfect response
The on-screen statistics showed that Crosby and Bissonnette played together for exactly four minutes and 30 seconds. During that time, they recorded six shot attempts, four shots on goal, three high-danger chances—and zero goals.
Seeing the less-than-stellar numbers, Paul Bissonnette had the perfect response.
“The real people of Pittsburgh say that I walked so Evgeni Malkin could run,” Bissonnette said.
