Donald Brashear makes comeback at age 53

Donald Brashear is known as one of the most feared enforcers in modern NHL history. He hasn’t played an NHL game since the 2009–2010 season, but he isn’t ready to retire just yet.

Over 16 seasons in the NHL, Brashear appeared in 1,025 regular-season games with the Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks, Philadelphia Flyers, Washington Capitals, and New York Rangers.

2 634 penalty minutes

Throughout his career, Brashear tallied 205 points and accumulated 2,634 penalty minutes — the 15th-highest total in NHL history. His 372 penalty minutes during the 1997–1998 season rank 10th all-time for the most in a single season.
Since leaving the Rangers after the 2009–2010 campaign, Brashear has suited up in Sweden’s SHL as well as in various semi-professional leagues across North America.

Donald Brashear comeback

He did not play last year, leading many fans to believe his career was over. But that’s not the case.
According to Swedish outlet Hockeynews, the now 53-year-old Brashear will be joining the CWSHL (Central West Senior Hockey League), where he is set to represent the Corner Brook Royals. No contract details have been made public yet.

If you’re not wearing a blue bucket, you might want to stay out of the corners this season.Welcome to the Royals Donald!🔵⚪️🔴
