Don Cherry

Don Cherry is a Canadian broadcaster and former coach who hosted Coach’s Corner on Hockey Night in Canada for close to 40 years and became the most recognisable voice in Canadian hockey. Cherry coached the Boston Bruins to two Stanley Cup Finals in the 1970s and won the Jack Adams Award in 1976. Sportsnet dismissed Cherry in November 2019 over on-air remarks about immigrants and Remembrance Day poppies, and he has largely stepped back from public life since ending his podcast in 2025.
