Jack Hughes overtime goal

After Jack Hughes scored the game-winning goal and the medal ceremony concluded, Team USA celebrated in the locker room. During the celebration, President Donald Trump called to congratulate the players. Footage of the call has since been released, and fans are now criticizing the team for how they reacted to one of Trump’s remarks.
In the video, Trump can be heard inviting the players to visit The White House. He then adds, “I’ve got to tell you, I have to also invite the women’s team as well… or I’d be impeached,” referring to the women’s squad, which also won gold.

Called out for Donald Trump joke

Online, fans are calling out the players for laughing at the joke.
“They should be ashamed, but I’m sure they’re not,” one user wrote on X.
“My first reaction wasn’t that they laughed because they think the women would decline the invite. It felt like they’re laughing at the ‘it’s a shame we’ve got to invite the women’ tone,” another person commented.
“This is actually f*cking nauseating, holy sh*t,” a third added.
