Skittles unexpectedly destroy the Boston Bruins with the most random burn following Game 7 loss

The Boston Bruins regular season was absurdly good. When the 82nd game of the season was played, the Bruins could look back at a regular season with the most wins in NHL history.

They also tallied the most points (133) in a single season in history. It wasn’t a big surprise they walked into the playoffs as a huge favorite to win the Cup, and not many counted on the Florida Panthers to pull off a huge upset.

But the NHL playoffs work in mysterious ways, and Boston Bruins became a victim of that with one of the most surprising first-round exits we’ve ever seen.

The Boston Bruins had a 3-1 lead over the Panthers at one point during the series but suffered a devastating blow as they lost three straight games. The Bruins are eliminated from the playoffs, and it was absolutely heartbreaking to see veteran Patrice Bergeron with tears on the ice after Game 7, knowing it could’ve been his last game in the NHL.

The Bruins fanbase was in shock, understandably, and the team has been getting absolutely slammed and mocked, and they’re the laughingstock of NHL supporters on social media at the moment.

And now, even beloved candy companies are joining in the mocking. Apparently, Skittles have a Twitter account, and apparently, they don’t have very strong feelings for the Bruins. On Monday, the company wrote the following on the social media platform:

“My weekend wasn’t great, but at least I didn’t choke away a 3-1 playoff lead. Anyways, taste the rainbow.”

Some hours later, Skittles replied to their own Tweet: ”Please stop throwing Skittles into Boston harbor. It was a joke.”

The Tweet from Skittles quickly made the round on Twitter, and as we’re writing this, more than 5 million people have seen the Tweet. It’s got to hurt for a Bruins fan, but a lot of people find it hilarious.

”Had to get Skittles after that. Thanks Skittles social media manager!” One said.

”This is the energy we need from Skittles,” another said.

”Is this an unprovoked dig at the Bruins? I…I am just so proud. Buying bags of skittles tomorrow and probably some stock too,” a third added.
