he Carolina Hurricanes are in a pickle, to say the least. They are down 3–0 against the Florida Panthers ahead of tonight’s game in Sunrise. Now, former NHLer Sean Avery is slamming the Hurricanes for not standing up for Sebastian Aho after he was bullied by Matthew Tkachuk.

The Florida Panthers have a golden opportunity to clinch their third straight appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals at home tonight. The first three games of the series against the Carolina Hurricanes have been quite uneven, with the Panthers outscoring the Hurricanes 5–2, 5–0, and 6–2.

Matthew Tkachuk went after Sebastian Aho

The Panthers are a very physical team, with Matthew Tkachuk leading the way by constantly getting under his opponents’ skin. Game Three on Saturday was no exception. During one sequence, Tkachuk chased down Sebastian Aho and wrestled him to the ice. Now, former NHLer Sean Avery has analyzed the situation—and he does not mince his words.

In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), the former agitator Sean Avery analyzes a sequence in which Tkachuk goes after Aho:
“He wants retribution for the hit Sebastian Aho put on Sam Reinhart in Game Two. Now, crosscheck, crosscheck, slash, slash. And none of his guys jump in. Tkachuk is a dog,” Avery says in the video.
Fans are now calling for someone on the Hurricanes to step up:
“Where are Aho’s teammates?? One of the Canes needs to go after Tkachuk first shift, next game. You can’t let one of your best players get mugged like that!” one person writes on X.
“I thought the Canes had some grit ‘til this series began,” another person adds.
Game Four is tonight in Florida. You can watch the video below.
