Sam Bennett’s spicy words to critics at Stanley Cup parade

The Florida Panthers won their second consecutive Stanley Cup last week and have been celebrating ever since. On Sunday, the team held a victory parade in Fort Lauderdale. Speaking to the massive crowd of fans, Sam Bennett had a few choice words for those who criticize the Panthers’ playing style.

The Panthers, now back-to-back Stanley Cup champions, are being hailed by many as a potential dynasty in the making. With a star-studded roster and impressive depth, they’ve become one of the most formidable teams in the league. Opponents often hate playing against them due to their intense, aggressive, and pest-like style.

Faced a lot of criticism

Over the past few seasons, the Panthers have faced criticism for what some call dirty or dangerous play. They’ve been accused of taking cheap shots and putting opponents at risk. During the parade, Conn Smythe Trophy winner Sam Bennett addressed those critics head-on in a fiery speech.

“You know, a lot of people don’t like the way we play. They call us dirty, they call us nasty, they call us bullies. So I would like to take this time to apologize—to absolutely fcking no one. We’re the double champs, we do what the fck we want!” Bennett shouted from the podium, earning massive cheers from the crowd.
However, his comments didn’t sit well with fans of other teams.
“He knows he’s dirty,” one fan wrote on X.
“Wow, what a horrible look,” another added.
“I’m sorry, but this is so cringey,” a third fan commented.
