The Eastern Conference Final is underway. With the teams traveling back and forth, a lot of temporary solutions have to be found for everything surrounding the games. In Carolina, for example, the press conference area has been set up inside the Florida Panthers’ gym—something that rascal Matthew Tkachuk responded to in a hilarious way.
The Stanley Cup Playoffs are in their final stages, and it’s a dream come true for every hockey fan, with games happening every day over the coming weeks. For the teams and the media crews covering the playoffs, however, it’s a different story. There’s a constant cycle of packing, unpacking, and traveling every other day. That means a lot of improvisation when setting up in each new arena.
Press conference in the gym
At PNC Arena in Carolina, the press conference area is, somewhat oddly, located inside the visiting Florida Panthers’ gym. Panthers forward—and well-known prankster—Matthew Tkachuk had the perfect response to the situation. Just as Carolina Hurricanes players Jordan Staal and Taylor Hall sat down for a press conference, Tkachuk seized the opportunity for a bit of payback.
Matthew Tkachuk hilarious reaction
He began working out with a large medicine ball, slamming it against the wall, right in the middle of the press session. Fans are finding his antics absolutely hilarious.
“God, I love his game!” one fan wrote on X.
“That guy rules!” said another.
“This is actually pretty funny,” a third added.
Game 2 will be played on Thursday in Carolina.
