The Florida Panthers lost 4–3 to the Utah Mammoth on Tuesday, snapping their three-game winning streak. However, the main talking point after the game is Matthew Tkachuk, who was penalized for embellishment.
The Panthers are chasing a playoff spot and currently sit six points outside the final wild-card position. However, after returning home following three straight road wins, Florida ultimately came up short against the Mammoth, who themselves were looking to rebound after a 2–0 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday.

Matthew Tkachuk called for embellishment
“I thought our composure was good early. We gave up a short-handed goal, and those are tough, but we tied it and I was really pleased for Sandis Vilmanis. He and Cole Schwindt were good on the forecheck,” Panthers head coach Paul Maurice told NHL.com after the game.
Despite the loss, the result itself has not been the main topic of discussion among fans afterward.
Instead, the focus shifted to Matthew Tkachuk. The forward has played five games since returning from injury, recording three assists, but he has also accumulated eight penalty minutes. Two of those came for embellishment late in Tuesday’s game, with 2:09 remaining in the third period.
Roasted online
Tkachuk is now being roasted online by fans who were unimpressed by the incident.
“That is such a pathetic and embarrassing look from Matthew Tkachuk. This loser has zero shame either — that’s the sad part,” one fan wrote on X.
“This one was too obvious. Easy tell is when both feet leave the ground,” another added.
“Lol, Matthew Tkachuk just being the worst per usual,” a third chimed in.
