Leon Draisaitl appears to make X-rated gesture towards official

The Edmonton Oilers are playing some incredible hockey right now, and Leon Draisaitl is at the top of his game. But it’s a non-hockey moment from the German superstar that’s been making the rounds on social media.

Leon Draisaitl and the Oilers are just one win away from returning to the Stanley Cup Final. They reached the Final last year as well, but that run ended with a Game 7 loss to the Florida Panthers.

After collapsing in Game 1 of the Conference Final against the Dallas Stars, the Oilers have dominated since—winning three straight games. Leon Draisaitl opened the scoring on Tuesday with a power-play goal midway through the first period. Jason Robertson tied the game at 1–1 in the second, but it was the Stars’ only goal of the night.

Leon Draisaitl’s gesture

Corey Perry added the Oilers’ second power-play goal, and late in the game, Kasperi Kapanen and Adam Henrique sealed the win with back-to-back empty-netters.

Leon Draisaitl now has 7 goals and 23 points through 15 games in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. But on Tuesday, he also had a viral moment that had nothing to do with hockey. At one point during a face-off, Draisaitl got into a loud exchange with a referee.

After being tossed from the circle, Leon Draisaitl expressed his frustration with an… interesting gesture toward the linesman. While it initially appeared explicit, many fans pointed out that it likely wasn’t an “NSFW” moment—more a cheeky comment that the linesman was playing around with the puck too much instead of just dropping it.

The Edmonton Oilers currently holds a 3-1 series lead over the Stars, and they could advance to the Stanley Cup Finals with a win on Thursday night.
