Kevin Bieksa’s awesome, heartfelt roast of the Sedin twins

It was an emotional night at Rogers Arena. Henrik and Daniel Sedin had their jerseys retired ahead of the Vancouver Canucks game against the Chicago Blackhawks.

During their speech, Henrik and Daniel thanked former teammates and coaches.

But it was former Canucks defenceman Kevin Bieksa whose speech kicked off the ceremony, even if it was more like a roast. “You know how you come to your first training camp in pretty good shape? Well, Hank never got that memo,” Bieksa said.

Bieksa then joked about the twins’ on-ice chemistry. “I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news, but part of the reason that they always knew where the other was on the ice is because they wore an earpiece,” Bieksa said.
