Jamie Benn gets ejected after outrageous hit from behind on Oliver Ekman-Larsson

Jamie Benn is a big guy. Last night though, his full blown power showed to be dangerous. The Stars’ forward was ejected after a ugly hit on Arizona captain Oliver Ekman-Larsson.

The Arizona Coyotes doesn’t love playing in Dallas. The Stars came out of last nights game with a 3-2 win, improving their record to 13 straight wins against the Coyotes.

The game took a scary turn in the second period. Coyotes’ captain Oliver Ekman Larsson chased the puck at the boards with Jamie Benn coming up from behind. The Stars’ forward put in a nasty hit with the Swede heading into the boards head first.

After laying on the ice for a moment, Ekman-Larsson could get himself to the dressing room and returned in the third period.

Benn was assessed a boarding major which led to a game misconduct.

It isn’t the first time the Stars captain and Ekman-Larsson have bumped into each other. Back in the december, the Coyotes blueliner caught Benn with with a blindside hit

Surely, the NHL Department of Player Safety will take a closer look at the situation, with Been risking a suspension.
