The Toronto Maple Leafs continue to struggle, suffering their fourth straight loss on Monday. Now, fans can’t stop laughing at an awkward blunder during their game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Since the NHL resumed after the Olympic break, the Maple Leafs have dropped four consecutive games. Last night, they earned their first point, losing in a shootout to the Flyers, with Matvei Michkov and Trevor Zegras scoring for Philadelphia.

Maple Leafs got their first point

The Maple Leafs had taken a 1-0 lead, but the Flyers came back and were ahead 2-1 late in the third period when William Nylander scored on the power play.
“Good battle by our group tonight. Really good second period. We had a lot of opportunities; we didn’t capitalize on them, but I thought our game was good all-around. Penalties in the first period kind of set us back a little bit, but overall, I thought the team competed hard, played good defense, did a lot of good things. We just didn’t finish,” Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube told NHL.com after the game. Fans, however, are focused on an incident between Maple Leafs players Matthew Knies and Max Domi.

Fans are mocking the team

Both went for the puck in the corner, but Knies was so focused on the puck that he didn’t notice Domi and leveled him with what would have been a great hit—if it had been on an opponent.
The moment quickly went viral, with fans mocking the Maple Leafs online.
“If that isn’t the 25/26 Maple Leafs personified, then I don’t know what is,” one fan wrote on Reddit.
“This has gotta be the Leafiest the Leafs have ever Leafed,” another added.
“Knies took the trade rumors a little too seriously,” a third fan joked.
Next up, the Maple Leafs will face the New Jersey Devils.
