Fans are furious after ”classless” act from Panthers fan

The Stanley Cup Final is really heating up. Game Three saw a whopping 140 penalty minutes, and one scrum followed another on the ice. But even off the ice, tensions are high. A clip from last night has NHL fans losing their minds after a classless act by a Panthers fan.

The last time a Stanley Cup Final game saw as many penalty minutes as it did yesterday was in 1986, when the Montreal Canadiens played the Calgary Flames. So it’s no exaggeration to call this year’s Final one of the most heated in recent years — which is understandable, as the Panthers and the Oilers are facing each other for the second year in a row.

Emotions running high

But it’s not just on the ice that emotions are running high. As the Oilers’ Kasperi Kapanen was coming off the ice, he stopped right before the tunnel to exchange words with some Panthers fans. Probably not the kindest words — but still, just words. Then, the camera caught another fan.

Panthers fan poured beer on Kapanen

This fan was seen pouring beer from a mug onto Kapanen. The incident has since sparked outrage among fans across the league, with many calling the act unforgivable.
“Gonna be banned from the Florida stadium forever,” one person wrote on X.
“Panthers fans are some of the worst,” another added.
“If you’re pouring a drink on a professional athlete as a fan, you have a mental illness,” a third commented.
“Should be banned and arrested,” a fourth said.
Game Four will be played in Florida on Thursday.
