Tom Wilson fought Brandon Tanev

Tom Wilson was involved in two fights during the game, but it was his first—against Tanev—that drew the most attention. The altercation came after Tanev hit Matt Roy from behind, sending him headfirst into the boards. Wilson took exception and immediately dropped the gloves. After the fight, both players continued yelling at each other from their respective penalty boxes.

Fans are outraged

Now, fans are calling for further discipline against Tanev for the hit on Roy, that led up to the Wilson fight.
“That’s a very clear charging, I feel,” one fan wrote on Reddit.
“That’s gotta be charging, right? Skated like 30 feet to launch into Roy’s back,” another added.
“What happened to ‘intent to injure’?” a third asked.
Next, the Capitals will face the Vegas Golden Knights.
