Erik Karlsson abruptly ends post-game scrum after controversial question

Erik Karlsson had a rough go last night.

His San Jose Sharks were defeated by the Toronto Maple Leafs, who scored some ridiculous goals while also seeing Auston Matthews return to the lineup.

Karlsson finished the game with 0 points and a -1 rating. After the game and facing the dreaded Toronto media, Karlsson’s media scrum was short lived.

The question asked wasn’t about the loss. The reporter asked about Karlsson’s upcoming return to Ottawa, the team he once Captained.

Already visibly rattled, Karlsson walked away from the scrum without answering the question.

Karlsson was probably agitated after the loss and that question was the final straw. Maybe not the time or place, but Karlsson will certainly face questions about Ottawa as the Sharks are set to face the Senators on December 1st.

Karlsson had a great career with the Senators which quickly went south after off-ice incidents and contract negotiation issues. I’m sure the fans will welcome him back with open arms, but for the time being, it appears as if Karlsson doesn’t want to face any question’s about Canada’s capital.
