The Senators came out on top, winning 3–2 after a late game-winner from team captain Tkachuk. As a result, it marked Ottawa’s third win in four games and now leaves them five points out of a playoff spot. Meanwhile, the Islanders sit just one point behind the final wild card position.
The game was physical from the start, featuring two fights within the first six minutes. To begin with, right off the opening faceoff, Brady Tkachuk and Anders Lee dropped the gloves. Then, five minutes later, Ridly Greig and Brayden Schenn also squared off.
Mocked by fans
Meanwhile, Tkachuk is now being mocked online by fans.
“Brady lost in the only thing he’s supposed to be good at,” one fan wrote on X.
“Brady is such a clown. Won’t actually fight real fighters, but squawks about being a tough guy,” another added.
“Watching Brady get punched out is excellent,” a third chimed in.
Looking ahead, the Senators will host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday.
