Talented young squad
The Montreal Canadiens have had a great start to their 2025–2026 campaign, with only three losses in their first eleven games. Their talented young squad has fans and analysts raving. And last night, they once again went home with two points after an overtime win against the Seattle Kraken.
Cole Caufield secured the victory just 44 seconds into overtime, moving into first place for the most overtime goals in Canadiens history with his third of the season.
Playing only eleven minutes, Arber Xhekaj didn’t record any points or penalty minutes, but he still made his presence felt in his own way.
Arber Xhekaj praised by fans
In one situation, Kirby Dach found himself in a scrum alone with three Kraken players. Then Xhekaj jumped in, taking on two players at once to even the odds a bit — and fans loved it.
“He always comes away with two guys, and it’s hilarious every time,” one fan wrote.
“He’s so old-school. Notice he had no intention of swinging them — he just wanted to even things up by taking two of the three and containing them,” another fan added.
“That’s what we need him for,” a third fan wrote.
