The Dallas Stars now have one foot in the Western Conference Final after a solid 3–1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets at home. The series shifts to Winnipeg for Game 5, where the Stars have a chance to close it out. In attendance for Game 4 was former Stars goaltender Anton Khudobin, who had a message for his former team ahead of the pivotal matchup.
Khudobin, who played four seasons with the Stars, backstopped the team to the Stanley Cup Final during the pandemic-shortened 2019–2020 season. Despite departing for the Chicago Blackhawks in 2023, he remains a beloved figure in the Stars community.
Anton Khudobin in the stands
Last night, Khudobin was spotted in the stands at the American Airlines Center for Game 4. The Stars secured the win thanks to strong performances from their Finnish players. Mikko Rantanen continued his hot streak with an assist, Mikael Granlund recorded a hat trick, and Miro Heiskanen added an assist in his first game back since January.
Message to Stars fans
During the third period, cameras caught Anton Khudobin with a microphone in hand. He delivered a spirited message to the players and fans ahead of Game 5:
“Fans, guess what — we are not going home!” he shouted, suggesting that the Stars intend to finish the series on the road this Thursday in Winnipeg.
