Last season, Alexander Ovechkin broke the record everyone thought was impossible when he surpassed the great Wayne Gretzky for the most goals in NHL history. Ovechkin is still under contract with the Washington Capitals and is preparing for his 21st NHL season. But now, a new summer photo of him has fans laughing.
Alexander Ovechkin has always been known for not caring much about diets—sipping Coca-Cola during games and eating Subway in between. Yet season after season, he proves that his diet doesn’t affect his goalscoring abilities. Last season, at 39 years old, he scored 44 goals, tying for the third most in the league.
Preparing for next season
On April 6, Ovechkin scored his 895th goal, passing Wayne Gretzky for the most goals in NHL history and proving to everyone that he’s still got it. The Washington Capitals were knocked out in the second round of the playoffs by the Carolina Hurricanes, and now Ovechkin and his teammates are preparing for next season.

But on Instagram, former soccer player Roman Pavlyuchenko posted a beach photo featuring Alexander Ovechkin. His offseason form has fans reacting in the most hilarious way.
“Better barrel than most,” one person wrote.
“Haha, Ovi’s the best… No f**ks given,” another commented.
“You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like,” a third added.
