Things heated up in the battle between Nashville and Winnipeg last night, which eventually lead to three misconducts handed out – all to Jets’ players.
Chaos ensued during a line brawl between the two clubs, and it was a chippy game overall. The franchises met in last years playoffs during the second round.
Many penalties were handed out in the game, not including the five that were dished out after the line-brawl.
19 penalties were given during the game, and Tyler Myers was given a misconduct for a gesture towards the referee.

The refs handed out 8 penalties to the Jets in a row. With how the game was being called, Tyler Myers clapped towards the official, giving the referee a fake applause for his officiating.
The call came 25 seconds after Dustin Byfuglien was given a two-minute minor for Interference. It’s clear Myers was infuriated with how the game was being called and mostly all penalty calls went in favor of Nashville.

Any gesture that can be portrayed as negative should not be dealt to the ref. You’re playing with fire if you give the referee a reason to sit you down in the box. In Myers’ defense, I’m sure it was worth it to sarcastically clap at the referee.
At the end of the contest, Winnipeg had 60 PIM compared to Nashville’s 16, which included 10 from fighting. Winnipeg had three misconducts handed out over the course of the game, one to Myers and one to Ben Chariot and Mark Scheifele.
The Jets can be happy knowing they managed to kill off all penalties handed out, but Winnipeg was not happy with the number of penalty calls going in favor of the Preds.
