Five unanswered goals
In Game 3 on Sunday, it looked like the Avalanche were on their way to taking control of the series. They built a 3-0 lead after the first period — but it all fell apart. The Vegas Golden Knights scored five unanswered goals, leaving the Avalanche now needing to win four straight games to reach the Stanley Cup Final.
“Our season is on the line. I felt like it was desperate at times, but as I said, it was just that we gave them a couple too many opportunities. They capitalized on that,” Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar told reporters after the game.
Nathan MacKinnon called out
Now, star forward Nathan MacKinnon is being called out by fans for his body language during Game 3. When Vegas scored their 4-3 goal through Tomas Hertl, MacKinnon was seen on the bench closing his eyes in disbelief at what had just happened.
”Always the body language of a whiny little b*tch when adversity hits,” one fan wrote on X.
”They say there’s a point in every series where one team knows it’s going to lose – pretty sure that’s the face you make at that point,” another one wrote.
”For a guy who’s called Crosby his childhood hero and biggest inspiration, he sure is a f*cking classless prick,” a third one chimed in.
Game 4 will be played on Tuesday.
