Paul Bissonnette signed extension
Earlier this week, Bissonnette signed a contract extension with NHL on TNT. On Tuesday, he took on a new role, making his debut as a live reporter between the benches during the Buffalo Sabres–Philadelphia Flyers game. His performance earned widespread praise.
“No surprise, Biz is good between the benches. Maybe most impressive, in addition to taping a bunch of funny segments before the game, you can tell he did his homework. It takes a lot to prep for a game, and he certainly did. Great addition to the game broadcast,” his colleague Mike Kelly wrote on X.
Interviewed Rick Tocchet
As part of his debut, Bissonnette sat down with Flyers head coach Rick Tocchet. The interview—more of a sketch than a traditional Q&A—quickly went viral. It consisted mainly of the two chirping each other while showing off their comedic timing.
“First of all, I wanna give you the opportunity to congratulate me on my contract extension,” Bissonnette opened.
“Honestly, I can’t believe they pay you for this,” Tocchet fired back, setting the tone for the rest of the exchange.
”Nailed it!”
Fans couldn’t get enough of the clip as it spread across social media.
“Did they already hand out the Golden Globes? BizNasty nailed it!” one fan wrote on X.
“Give Bizzy Boy his own series. Great stuff,” another added.
“Biz playing the next star of Heated Rivalry?” a third joked.
